Christmas Reads

One of my all time favorite Christmas themed M/M stories is Look Away Silence by Edward C. Patterson. Now, this book does have one of the ugliest covers I have ever seen, but you really can't judge this book by its cover.
I have to warn you, I cried buckets reading this story, I still cry when I revisit it. When I purchased the book, I had no clue what it was about. I don't read blurb's or reviews before buying a book, I want to be surprised. I want the author to take me on a journey and not have someones mind frame while enjoying a book.

I don't want to give any spoilers away, I will tell you that this was my first HIV/AIDS read. Martin and Matthew are one of my all time favorite couples. This is certainly not an easy book but its an undeniable emotionally masterpiece. The depth of the characters and their story is an important tale that transcends gender and race, highlighting a time that had and continues to have devastating effects. The title is so appropriate and fitting to the characters and the topics displayed.

There are several editing issues with this book, however it didn't pull me away from the story. I just corrected them in my head and kept going. I had to know how their love was going to turn out. The book is divided into four parts, each part builds the plot and characters in a respectable way.

I love you guys will run out and enjoy this story. It holds such a great meaning in my heart.

 Happy Holidays and Happy Reading!
